Pedestrian seriously injured after being struck on 15th Ave W

Seattle police are investigating a collision that seriously injured a pedestrian in Interbay on Monday night.

Police were called to 15th Avenue West near West Emerson Street around 8:35 p.m. on Dec. 1 for reports of a vehicle striking a person. When police and Seattle Fire crews arrived, they found a man—believed to be between 20 and 30 years old—lying in the roadway. Police described his injuries as potentially life-threatening.

Seattle Fire provided medical care and took the man to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.

According to police, the collision happened as a 56-year-old driver was traveling south in a 2023 Chevrolet Bolt. Investigators say the pedestrian was in the middle of the street when he was struck. The driver remained at the scene, called 911, and cooperated with officers.

A Drug Recognition Expert evaluated the driver and reported no signs of impairment. Police released him after the assessment.

SPD says the details are preliminary, and the case has not yet been assigned to a detective.
