Seattle police detectives are investigating a fatal collision that happened on March 18 in Interbay.
According to SPD, shortly after 5 a.m. last Wednesday, officers responded to a crash involving a car that struck a power pole in the 1500 block of Elliott Avenue West.
When officers arrived, they found a 53-year-old woman who had been ejected from the vehicle and was lying unresponsive on the sidewalk. Officers provided lifesaving measures until the Seattle Fire Department arrived. Despite those efforts, medics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
Detectives determined the woman had been driving southbound when she lost control of her Jeep, struck the pole, and was ejected. Police say speed and weather may have been contributing factors.
Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad responded to process the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
