Work is now underway on several new public art projects as part of the Brewery District Mural Week initiative in Ballard, with organizers also announcing an added community walking tour event for this weekend.
The multi-year mural initiative aims to connect local artists with Ballard property owners, businesses, and organizations while bringing new murals to the neighborhood. Organizers say the inaugural mural week includes four murals being created simultaneously, along with a fifth “surprise” satellite mural site planned nearby.

According to organizer Aaron Asis, all mural work began on May 11 and will wrap up with a public Artist Market and community event at the Firestone Project, located at 1145 NW Market St.
The Saturday, May 16 event will include an Artist Market from noon to 5 p.m., featuring work from more than 20 local artists, live painting of six interior murals, a community painting room, and artwork from more than 50 artists connected to the Firestone Project.
Organizers have also added a Brewery District mural walking tour on Saturday, led by Asis, beginning at 4 p.m. from the Firestone Project. The tour will include “a couple of surprise special guests,” according to organizers.

A separate “Firestone Finale” farewell event is scheduled for 7 p.m. until late Saturday evening.
Participating artists include Stevie Shao, They Drift, B Line Dot, and Craig Cundiff, with an additional artist to be announced.
The murals currently underway include:
- Stevie Shao at 950 NW Leary Way
- They Drift at 1415 NW 52nd St.
- B Line Dot at 4612 NW Leary Way
- Craig Cundiff at 5015 14th Ave. NW
Organizers say information on the fifth mural artist will be announced later.
