Cascade PBS Ideas Festival coming to Fremont on June 6

The Cascade PBS Ideas Festival is set to take place in Fremont on Saturday, June 6, bringing together journalists, lawmakers, authors, and cultural figures for a day of discussions on current events and public issues.

According to organizers, the daylong festival will feature live podcast and television tapings from programs including Fresh Air, Radiolab, The Political Scene, Radio Atlantic, and Open to Debate.

Scheduled speakers include Ibram X. Kendi, Nancy Pelosi, Monica Lewinsky, Laverne Cox, Kenny Mayne, Tonya Mosley, Adam Schiff, Robby Hoffman, and Kevin Sur. Organizers say additional speakers and sessions are also planned throughout the day.

Events will be held at three Fremont venues:

  • Fremont Studios (155 N 35th St), which will host the Mainstage
  • The Picklr (124 N 35th St), home of the Big Ideas Stage
  • Hidden Hall (400 N 35th St), which will host the Northwest Stage

Organizers say there will also be activities along N 35th St, including art, vendors, coffee, and food trucks.
