Here’s your weekly events roundup for July 6-12 in Ballard.

Plenty to do around the neighborhood this week, with the big draw being the Ballard Music & Seafoodfest, happening July 10-12 in downtown Ballard. Enjoy!

Monday, July 6

  • Fan Zone at Illumination Learning Studio (ages 5 – 11) Camp, July 6-10
    • It’s an exciting time to live in Seattle, where we’ll be hosting some World Cup 2026 games! At Fan Zone, we’ll learn all about soccer, FIFA, the World Cup, and some local Seattle FCs. We’ll even get some chances to practice our handling skills with drills and scrimmages. Jump into the Fan Zone and be a part of our team!
  • Free Lindy Hop Lessons at Conor Byrne Co-op, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
    • Free dance lessons before live music from Django Jazz group Si Tu Savais! No partner or experience required!

Tuesday, July 7

  • BYOC: Bring Your Own Craft at Artemis Coffee, 5-7 p.m.
    • Cozy Craft Time! Bring something you’d like to work on and co-craft with us every Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. Join other crafters for a no-pressure environment to work on something you love, meet some new friends who craft and be amazed by the things they’re working on.

Wednesday, July 8

  • Trivia with Head in the Clouds, Reuben’s Brews, 7-10 p.m.
    • Our trivia hosts keep the pace quick and the categories wide—music, movies, local lore, and the occasional curveball. It’s community tables, cheers for good answers, and no gatekeeping. Build a team or join one on arrival. Either way, you’ll enjoy fresh beer and leave with new facts and a few new friends.

Thursday, July 9

  • It’s About Time Writers Reading Series with Duane Kirby Jensen, Celaine Charles, J. Wesley Fullerton & Sibyl James, Ballard Library, 6 p.m.
    • This reading features four Pacific Northwest writers with backgrounds spanning poetry, fiction, painting, and education. Painter and poet Duane Kirby Jensen, who has exhibited and performed throughout the region since 1989, will be joined by award-winning multi-genre author Celaine Charles, whose work includes poetry, fantasy, romance, and children’s literature. Also reading are J. Wesley Fullerton, a poet whose work grew out of the Bellingham spoken-word scene and who is currently working on his first book, and Seattle author Sibyl James, whose 15 published books span poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and translation, and whose teaching career has taken her to classrooms across the U.S. and internationally. Together, the lineup highlights a diverse group of established and emerging voices from across the Pacific Northwest.

Friday, July 10

  • Ballard Music & Seafoodfest, July 10-12 in downtown Ballard
    • Ballard Music & Seafoodfest returns to the neighborhood July 10–12, bringing three days of live music, seafood, local vendors and family-friendly activities to the heart of Ballard. Now in its 52nd year, the festival is making its debut under a new name that reflects an expanded focus on live music while continuing longtime traditions like the salmon barbecue, arts and crafts market and community celebrations. This year’s lineup features national and local acts including Built to Spill, NITE WAVE and Wild Rumours, alongside more than 50 food vendors, a beer and cocktail garden, children’s activities, the Ballard Farmers Market and the annual lutefisk eating contest.

Saturday, July 11

  • Matcha Whiskshop with Tea For Us, Atria, 10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m., July 11 & 12
    • In this 50-minute hands-on session, you will learn how to prepare and enjoy three varieties of Tea For Us’ bestselling and limited-edition matcha. We’re hosting this right before we open the doors for the day, offering a calm, focused environment to perfect your whisking technique.
  • Lavender U-Pick & Sale at Interbay P-Patch, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    • Spend a summer afternoon surrounded by lavender at the Interbay P-Patch Community Garden’s Lavender U-Pick & Sale
  • Paper Hearts Romance Zine Fest, Swoon City, 2 – 6:30 p.m.
    • Swoon City’s first-ever romance-themed zine fest — a one-day pop-up to celebrate local artists and how much they love love. FREE to attend. We will be hosting a number of local queer zine makers including Nicole Capó Martínez, Nell Kerr, and Clarissa Kleveno.

Sunday, July 12

  • Ballard Farmer’s Market, Ballard Ave, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.(recurring)
    • Open since 2000, the Ballard Farmers Market is Seattle’s first year-round neighborhood farmers market selling produce exclusively from Washington state farmers. The Market has operated along the historic cobblestone stretch of Ballard Avenue NW between Vernon Place and 22nd Avenue.
  • Community Yoga with Flood Yoga, 8:45 a.m. – 9:45 a.m.
    • This Slow Flow class is a gently-paced vinyasa practice that invites you to move, breathe, and settle into your body — no experience necessary, all levels welcome.
  • Ballard Bookworms Community Storytime, Ballard Preschool Co-op, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
    • Join Ballard Preschool Co-op’s beloved Teacher Christine, along with special guest Music Together teacher Mariah Fraser from Music Center of the Northwest, for a fun and engaging story time designed to spark a love of reading and build community connections. Grab your picnic blanket and join us on the lawn at the Ballard Locks (or in the Visitor Center if it rains). Ballard Bookworms is free and open to the public. Recommended for ages 5 and under (older siblings welcome).
  • Author Signing: Shayla Kieneker and Jessica Miller, Swoon City, 12-3 p.m.
    • Shayla Kieneker & Jessica Miller books blend dark romance, emotional grit, power dynamics, and pulse-racing tension that lingers long after the last page. Set against the moody backdrop of Seattle, their world is one where nothing is black and white—just tangled sheets, twisted truths, and characters clawing their way through trauma, temptation, and truth.
