Tonight is the annual Night Out event, with several block parties and street closures planned in Ballard.
The Seattle Police Department’s crime prevention department promotes Night Out, a national event that aims to strengthen anti-crime efforts. It’s usually held on the first Tuesday night in August.
There are dozens of block parties planned in Ballard, and SPD has created an interactive map so you can see what’s happening near you.
Several of the parties will mean street closures, so keep an eye out as you’re driving around Ballard tonight for blocked-off residential streets.
Block parties typically include games, potlucks, music, and other family-friendly activities, but if you visit the interactive map, you can view details for each event. The hours are flexible, but most will be out between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m.
