There’s been some filming happening this week on Ballard Ave.
The clothing store Studio RA at 5301 Ballard Ave NW was one of the filming locations, as was the jewelry store Begin at 5349 Ballard Ave NW.
We looked into what’s filming around Seattle this week, and according to on-set reports from the crew and a casting call, it sounds like it’s a comedy series called SAHD about stay-at-home dads.
The casting call for SAHD describes it as “a mockumentary sitcom that follows Tom and his life as a stay-at-home dad. Once his youngest starts attending school full-time, Tom needs to find a way to reconcile his mixed feelings about his changing role as a SAHD. Think of it as a coming-of-middle-age story.”
Another crew is in Seattle right now filming “Friend Thing,” a movie set in Seattle in the 90s and starring Alfie Williams and Ryan Kiera Armstrong. LA-based director Harry Calbom told The Seattle Times that he grew up here and that the film is inspired by his childhood.
If we learn of more filming happening around Ballard this week, we’ll keep you posted.
