Spring weather is finally here which means spring cleaning! If you find yourself pulling clothes out of your closet that you just don’t want anymore, bring them down to the ThreadCount Clothing Exchange at Mr. Spot’s Chai House (5463 Leary Ave NW) from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. At the clothing exchange, you’ll get to unload your old clothes and find new duds — for free. Take whatever catches your eye. The leftovers will be donated to the Goodwill and the Ballard Food Bank. If you don’t have any clothes to donate, don’t worry, you can still come get new threads. No stained clothing please.

Great idea! My friends and I used to throw big parties and do this same thing and it was big fun. A good way to recycle clothing, clean the closets and give to charity.
I'll be there! Dropped off a giant bag of nice clothes and a couple of pair of nice size 8 shoes yesterday!
BTW, the Last Exit was on Brooklyn, not on the Ave, ergo the Name “Last Exit on Brooklyn.”. The propery was owned by the UW and finally turned into an office after about…30 or so years. I swear though, the same old hippies were hanging out there when they closed it as were there when I was at the UW.
Dropped off about 2 bags of clothes earlier today. Seemed like a good variety of stuff for both men and women.
Do you mean patchouli? I hate that stink, too. It smells like freshly tilled dirt. Who wants to smell like dirt?!
They moved the Last Exit from the Brooklyn location to the Ave, actually. I used to frequent it on Brooklyn when I was in high school. I went to the location on the Ave once or twice, but it wasn't the same.
Thanks so much for posting this, My Ballard! It was a huge success and I plan on making this event a bi-monthly one so even if you didn't get a chance to check it this time, there will be another on the horizon! I'm Meg–the de facto leader of this event and feel free to email me w/your email if you'd like to get on the ThreadCount clothing exchange mailing list!
How do you get the smell of idle people out of your clothes?
