Jazzy weekend events for Ballard

Looks like another nice weekend — not quite as warm, but Meteorologist Rich Marriott says the sun will be out on Sunday after some clouds on Saturday.

  • The Ballard Jazz Walk is Friday night. Venue details here. Other weekend Jazz Festival events for both Saturday and Sunday can be found here.
  • Also on Friday night is the much-publicized “Snuggie Pub Crawl.” The event starts at 7 p.m. at the Loft with donations being accepted for Northwest Harvest. According to the Seattle Snuggie website, the Ballard Bartell’s just restocked their Snuggies.
  • The Adams Elementary silent auction is on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ballard Community Center.
  • CatchCon 2009, The first ever Deadliest Catch convention is on Saturday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. If you weren’t lucky enough to get tickets, you can follow the event on their live blog or on twitter.
  • The 2nd Annual Community Oyster Roast is Sunday at the Golden Gardens Bath House. There are two seatings. One is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the second is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event raises money for the Puget Soundkeeper Alliance. Tickets are $50 (206-297-7002) and through Brown Paper Tickets.

  1. FYI, Ballard. The WSU Alumni Association planned a Cougar pub crawl tomorrow night. I believe they are hitting the Balmar, Ballard Loft, Bad Albert's and the Lock & Keel.

  2. Don't know if anyone mentioned that LYONS–Lutheran Youth of North Seattle–is having their annual Dinner Theater production fundraiser. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this weekend and next at the much talked about old Calvary Lutheran Church. Fun stuff and New Orleans style food. Oh, yeah–with door prizes, too.
