Eldr reopens in Sunset Hill after closure following fire

Eldr (6414 32nd Ave NW) has reopened in Ballard’s Sunset Hill neighborhood after temporarily closing last year following a fire.

The restaurant’s reopening on May 18 comes more than a year after Eldr was forced to close.

Eldr, led by Executive Chef and restaurateur Brian Clevenger, focuses on live-fire cooking and seasonal ingredients.

Eldr’s menu includes dishes such as Albacore Crudo with strawberry, chili, and olive oil; Grilled Asparagus with taleggio, hazelnut, and chervil; Halibut with charred spring onion jus and pea vines; and a dry-aged American Wagyu Ribeye Steak for Two. A four-course chef’s tasting menu is available for $97.

The restaurant seats 36 guests and offers happy hour menus daily from 5 to 6 p.m. and again from 9 to 10 p.m.

“We’re thrilled to welcome guests back to Sunset Hill,” Clevenger said in a press release. “This restaurant is all about celebrating the essence of live-fire cooking, and we’re excited to share a fresh spring menu that showcases the best proteins and produce the season has to offer.”

The restaurant’s bar program includes cocktails made with local and international spirits, along with local and domestic beers and wines from Italian, French, and Pacific Northwest winemakers.

Eldr is open daily from 5 to 10 p.m. Takeout and delivery are available through Toast, DoorDash, and Uber Eats.
