Embroidery Class: Sashiko Tea Towel Workshop

In this hands-on 2 hour workshop, learn the basics of Japanese sashiko stitching and apply it to embellish a tea towel.
You will learn how to work with sashiko needles and thread and sew a running stitch. You will also learn how to use stick-on design templates to stitch sashiko designs using Sulky Stick N’ Stitch.

Sashiko is a Japanese running stitch traditionally used to mend and strengthen textiles and clothing, as well as creating geometric patterns.

In this hands-on 2 hour workshop, learn the basics of Japanese sashiko stitching and apply it to embellish a tea towel.
You will learn how to work with sashiko needles and thread and sew a running stitch.

Each student will take home a set of sashiko needles, 2 skeins of sashiko thread, and a cotton tea towel.

Sashiko is an excellent way to slow down and stitch with mindfulness. There is such beauty in its imperfection and its simplicity, flexibility and adaptability to many projects!

This workshop is for sewers of all levels, from beginners to experienced.
