A free, daylong event designed to connect Seattle residents with local neighborhoods is coming to Ballard next month.
The Best Day Ever Ballard event will take place Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the National Nordic Museum, 2655 NW Market St. The event is limited to 50 participants, and a waitlist is available for anyone who would still like to attend.
Best Day Ever is a series of events co-created by the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods and Seattle Chamber of Connection. The program is holding seven events across Seattle in 2026, with one in each of the city’s seven districts.
Each six-hour event includes a mix of volunteer projects, movement activities, neighborhood walks, storytelling and cultural education, shared meals, and facilitated activities designed to help participants meet and connect with one another. Local food is also included.
The National Nordic Museum is hosting the Ballard event. From there, the attendees will spend the day exploring the neighborhood.
Participants must be at least 12 years old, individually registered, and able to attend the full event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Ballard event has reached capacity, but people can still join the waitlist and will be notified if additional spots become available.
Best Day Ever events were previously held in South Park in March and downtown Seattle in May. Additional events are scheduled for Hillman City on Sept. 19, Fremont on Oct. 10, Lake City on Oct. 24 and the Central District on Nov. 14.
