Kirke Park (7028 9th Ave NW) will play host to the first Small Batch Seattle Food and Goods Swap this Sunday, starting at 2 p.m.

Founded by a group of friends that wished they had more time to indulge in the homemade lifestyle, Small Batch Seattle brings local makers together to exchange goods, thereby creating a more sustainable, independent lifestyle

Attendees can bring as many or as few items as they want, packaged into portions of approximately $5-$10 amounts for easy swapping. These items can be anything homemade or homegrown, including baked goods, jams, fermented foods, natural sodas, yogurt, grown vegetables, soaps, etc. Organizers are encouraging attendees to bring ingredient lists, information on storage and shelf life, and samples of your items to try where practical.

Swappers are expected to adhere to the “Code of Conduct” listed on the Small Batch Seattle website:

  • By participating in this event, you are acknowledging that the food items being shared are not commercially prepared items. They are handmade goods not inspected by any government agency.
  • By participating in this event, you are acknowledging that you will use strict standards of cleanliness and safety when preparing any food items.
  • By participating in this event, you assume all liability; specifically, you agree to not hold liable food swap hosts, swap venue owners/providers, or other swap participants.

Only those that bring items to swap can participate. Preregistration is required for each participating attendee, as space is limited. The event is expected to last approximately two hours.
