More than 600 Ballard, Magnolia and Queen Anne households receive food, clothes, or emergency financial assistance each week from the Ballard Food Bank. And in these tough economic times, the food bank could use your help, from volunteers to donations.
Volunteering is a great way to give back to your neighborhood. Monday through Friday you can, help load and unload food, give out food, bag groceries for home delivery, sort donations, help out at the clothing bank, or serve food in the kitchen.
The food bank could also use monetary donations — any amount is greatly appreciated. They also accept nonperishable food like canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, etc. And nonfood items like clean used clothing, blankets, sheets, sleeping bags and personal hygiene supplies.
A quarter of the Ballard Food Bank’s assistance goes to children in need, and the vast majority of the nonprofit’s funding comes from neighbors and small businesses. To learn how you can help by volunteering, click here. And to donate, click here. Thank you for your help!
