Heavy rain turns into street flooding

It was some of the heaviest rain we’ve seen in Seattle. Driving down 65th from Phinney Ridge into Ballard, we shot some video: Water covered the street in front of businesses along 65th, at the bottom of the Ridge, and small rivers poured down residential streets. The moon glowed big and bright over Ballard, so we broke out the zoom lens: Enjoy the clear, warm weather while it lasts. Rain is expected to move into Seattle later in the day on Friday.

Victoria Clipper diverts to Shilshole after report of engine fire

Bald eagle over Ballard (photo)

We heard quite a ruckus in our backyard, and we walked out the door just in time to see a murder of crows (correct term) in full, noisy pursuit of a bald eagle. At least in our neighborhood, the crows have been ruthless lately.
