Scand30: Viking Y2K—Ragnarök, Doomsday, and the End of the World (as We Know It)

December 12, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Drop into our last Scan30 lecture of 2019 to learn more about Viking culture and how they saw the end of the world. How did their understanding of the future affect their actions in their present? Was Old Norse religion really just a Doomsday cult?

Scandinavian 30 is a series of free, thirty-minute talks by Scandinavian Studies and other UW faculty held on the second Thursday of each month at the National Nordic Museum. The Museum and its Freya café are open until 8pm on Thursdays.
