THE ELWHA RIVER BEFORE & AFTER DAM REMOVAL

April 18, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

$10

Presentation by Dr. Ian Miller
Join us and Ian Miller to learn about the ecological changes since the removal of the Elwha River dams, the biggest project of its kind in US history. Learn about the changes since the dam removal, both physical and to the marine community.

How did the shoreline respond? Where did the sea-floor change? What were the ecological consequences? Once known for its 100-pound Chinook salmon, the Elwha, located a few miles west of Port Angeles, was dammed in the early 20th century. Dam removal began in 2011 completing in 2014.
