A couple My Ballard readers said they heard a loud bang in the direction of the power substation between 6th and 8th Ave. Friday afternoon, and then the power went out. It came back on a short time later. We’re unable to find out a cause, but it does remind us of that suicidal raccoon who “bridged the gap” in transmission lines in the same substation back in May, cutting power for several thousand homes.
