AOL CityGuide: “Expect fast-food prices, even though the burgers are top-notch and cooked to order. You can also get chunky, home-style fries, chicken, turkey and even vegetarian items…”
Yelp: “I love a good burger but at the same time am not a fan of fancy-schmancy burgers. I like them quick, messy, and wrapped in paper. Scooter’s delivered a good, solid burger experience…”

Tasty veggie guacamole burger at very reasonable prices. This place is perfect for summer. The onion rings are great too. I've tried other burger places in Ballard and none have even come close to Scooters.

Agree with Miller, live on the doorstep but feel the food is a dollar or two overpriced. Kids who work there are nice (remember folks, tip your server)

I hold the lettuce these days, and go with the small fries. The onion rings are probably the best in Seattle...

burgers have dropped in taste and quality...I used to brag to everone about them, but now the meat is dry, the buns soggywith too much shredded wet lettuce and sauce...used to be great, and the buns were soft, yet crispy on the insice frm being freshly grilled on the griddel,a nd the burgers actually tasted like meat!

Has the best burger place in Ballard recently changed hands maybe? I used to think it was run by old Zestos employees since it tasted like the real Zestos back in the 60s. My last few visits have been not so good. Undercooked meat and lettuce that was WAY past its prime, sorta brown.

I love Scooters. Great food at good prices. Made to order and delicious!

I have always loved this place, but now notice that the meat is thinner, not as juicy...appears they are cutting back and think no one woudl notice...also the bun was so soggy from all the sauce and I loved the fact they never had grated lettuce, now it is wet sloppy lettuce with too much sauce which soaks the bun. They used to make a juicy burger with a toasted bun, and it was fantastic!1 They still make the best onion rings in town!!!

Very dependable - great onion rings and shakes, and the mini shake is definitely a cool option for getting a shake without a too massive calorie blowout.

I usually go for a grilled turkey club sandwich instead of a burger. Burgers are good but can tend to be overdone as is so often the case most everywhere these days.

Great place to grab a quick lunch or dinner.

People nice. Food OK at best. Was very disapointed in the food I had there.

I had a delicious butterscotch shake here!

Don't listen to the nay-sayers. Scooter's hits the mark every time. I mean sure people, it's not the best burger in Seattle, but who really cares? It's a local mom & pop joint, the staff is always friendly, and the food comes fast...just the way it should be. Their Blue Chicken burger is tops.

I've lived next to Scooter's for years, and I've eaten there many times out of laziness/ necessity. I am NOT a fan of their, in my opinion, overpriced burgers -- flat bun, usually sloppy wet with sauce & such, and a burned, flat hockey puck for meat. As was said above, there are so many better burgers in town. THAT being said, their shakes and onion rings are great.

I was expecting much more from Scooter's after reading so many positive reviews and awards. But oh my gosh - there are so many better places to get a burger in this town. Our burgers did not taste good, were skimpy on the meat, skimpy on the sauce, had wilted lettuce. Ugh - maybe they were having an off day? The staff was very friendly, I'll give them that!
  • I've only been here once, but the food was good.
They have one thing that is a stroke of genius - a mini shake!
As a woman, I always want a delicious shake, but they can be a poor dietary choice. A mini shake allows me to taste the deliciousness and satisfy the shake craving without doing myself in.
Also, the staff has personality with a capital P.

Think Kidd Valley with a much larger selection. Very good burgers and Onion Rings (I don't remember what the fries were like.
