Fremont show canceled after freak injury

I’m a huge Pela fan, and the band was scheduled to play Tuesday night at the High Dive in Fremont. But lead singer and guitarist Billy McCarthy fell off the stage during the final song last night in Chicago, landing on a broken pint glass, severely cutting his hand. So the band’s upcoming gigs are canceled until further notice (although Liam Finn and guests will still play tomorrow night). How bizarre. By the way, one of Seattle’s best local bands, The Blakes, will play a free concert at the High Dive on Saturday.
