Smash-and-grab in two minutes flat

Usually, smash-and-grabs happen late at night in darkly-lit parking lots. But according a police report, a Ballard woman says she parked her Audi on 24th Ave. at 59th to run across the street “for only two minutes” to drop off her dry cleaning. When she returned, her window was punched out and her purse was stolen. Goes to show, you should never leave anything valuable in your car in plain sight — even in Ballard. (By the way, we’re starting to go through Seattle police reports to add a little crime reporting to My Ballard).

Update: See comments. Apparently this is not an isolated incident.
