When you look at the available Seattle-area traffic cameras, it’s pretty easy to see our area of town is sans icons on the map. That’s about to change when traffic cameras on both ends of the Fremont Bridge go live sometime this summer, according to the Seattle Department of Transportation.
One camera on the south end is pointed out above. There’s lots of what looks to coax/CAT-5 cable strung between poles on the north end of the bridge where cameras will be installed soon. According to an SDOT spokeswoman, the IT folks will be out to hook them up sometime this summer. I’ve asked if they’ll be adding cameras to the Ballard Bridge next and I’m eagerly awaiting a response.
