Planting party at Ballard Corners Park

Volunteers came out a couple of weeks ago to install this new playground at Ballard Corners Park on 17th Ave.

Today (Saturday) they’re looking for more folks to work on the landscaping. The work starts at 9 a.m., and we’re told that volunteers should bring gloves, shovels, trowels, pruners, and wheel barrows if you have them. Ballard Market is donating coffee, tea, juice, muffins, fruit, and sandwiches to the work crew. The park designer, John Barker is also bringing his cider press to make cider from the apples in the park. Bring your jugs to take some cider home.
