The Ballard High School band marched up and down East Ballard streets this evening, practicing for the Norwegian Constitution Day parade.
The practice march is an annual tradition and a neighborhood favorite.
The Syttende Mai parade is coming on May 17th. By the way, this year’s Grand Marshall is Norwegian Ambassador Wegger Chr. Strommen.

This is one of my favorite things about living in this neighborhood.
Those of us on 9th Ave nw are so sad that our street was missed. We were all outside waiting for the band!
you guys are quick!
Sorry I missed this. How soon before someone is on this thread complaining about how this inconvenienced them? ; )
First picture is looking west at NW 70th and 10th NW
Thanks BHS for marching up our street yesterday evening! It was a great surprise. We live near Whittier elem. and at first I thought wow, those elementary kids can really play! But then it kept getting louder and louder and soon there were a hundred marchers passing by. Please come by every day!
