The East Ballard walking tour is set

Last month, the East Ballard Community Association was looking for ideas for the first-ever neighborhood walking tour. Now the schedule is set. On June 13th, meet at Cafe’ Bambino (405 NW 65th St) at 10 a.m. The tour will go from NW 65th to Market, between 3rd and 14th and will show off some of the “interesting architecture, history, inspirational gardens and community projects,” according to their blog. The route circles back around and will end at Crash Landing Pizza (702 NW 65th St) at noon where each participant will get a free slice of pizza. If this event is successful they’ll do another one for south east Ballard.

  1. I'm quite interested in a good walk, and at a time that I can actually attend!

Also, quite interested in the S.E. walk, that should be illuminating.

  2. Boring. Why would I want to walk around the bad half of ballard? Might as well lead a walk down through the central district, or better yet south park or tukwilia.

  3. There is isn't enough money in the world that would make me want to cross over to the east half. East Ballard is crime infested, low rent, and I have a hunch that most of its residents are the products of inbreeding. No thanks.

  4. Do you have any facts you're basing that on? Or just your own assumptions? I walk to Molly's up there all the time and I have never experienced any problems or seen anything that would make me think of it as 'crime infested.'
And your inbreeding comment is unnecessarily rude. Maybe you can throw out an actual fact before vomiting out a blanket insult to an entire section of a neighborhood.

  5. Just more blanket insults. That's okay. Having safely arrived at Molly's I'll raise a pint of Guinness to you and your wall.
Have a good evening. Trix out.

  6. Geez, family breeding practices must be a very sensitive topic for all you east ballardites (I prefer to call it lower phinney to not shame ballard proper). My comment broke none of the rules but yet was removed. Sometimes the truth is hard to accept, and its easier to cover it up and ignore it.

  7. I think it's inflammatory, and baseless, to draw any such conclusion. And clearly, you violated the rules, or your post would still be there.
I didn't see it, but feel sorry for Trix, who apparently did.
I raise a glass of water to Trix, would love a beer, but in this heat, I dare not….
