Pay your tickets, not the fine

If you’ve forgotten to pay a parking ticket or traffic infraction and the fines are piling up, the Seattle Municipal Court is letting you off the hook. Until the end of June you can pay your past-due tickets without paying a fine or interest. You can pay in person at 600 5th Ave, over the phone at 206-684-5600 or online. The “Collection Reduction Event” started at the beginning of May. Since then, more than 5,500 parking tickets and 400 infractions have been paid. According to the city, many of those who paid benefitted from reductions up to 40 percent.
