The “Coming Soon” sign is out of the window at Four Spoons Cafe in Crown Hill as they open for business today.
The old Library Cafe/Crown Hill Bistro at the corner of Dibble and 85th is a new neighborhood cafe. We’re told they’re doing breakfast and lunch only and will have a limited menu this week “as we get our act together.” Next week they’ll have the full menu. (Thanks for the tip, Libby!)

I miss the Library Cafe. If their chow is as good as that was, Four Spoons should do just fine.

That location seems to be cursed. I hope these guys can overcome whatever it is that forced out the last two restaurants in that space. I wasn't too fond of Crown Hill Bistro (only tried it once), but the Library was a perfectly nice place, especially for breakfast.
I was thinking the same thing. Isn't this the 3rd place in less than 2 years at that location? I can't believe it's solely due to the location as you have Wild Mountain and Georgia's on the same street within a few blocks and they both seem to be doing OK.

Library Cafe was around for awhile, I believe. At least 3-4 years. Or maybe it closed and left its sign up? Hmm.
The area outside the cafe seems run-down to me, so hopefully they'll do some cleaning up. Still, I'll make an effort to try it this week.
Here's the story folks. It was the Library for a number of years but the owners wanted to focus on other things so they sold the business (but still own the building) to the guy who started the Crown Hill Bistro. His hours were inconsistent, he jacked the prices and started serving dinner. That didn't go over well with the neighbors, so he split in December. The new owners of Four Spoons Cafe took over in May and opened their doors Fathers Day. The place is super clean inside, as they opened up the kitchen, took down all the awful wallpaper and drapes and have potted herbs on all the tables. The menu is simple with fair prices. The portions are not overwhelming like at some American style breakfast joints, and they have some signature dishes that makes them stand out. Their daily specials are a great way for them to diversify their menu too. I am told they make just about everything from scratch too! The first day I came in I had the soup of the day (tomato basil) and the caesar…which was the best homemade caesar dressing I have ever had. I came in again for brunch (they serve breakfast all day) with my boyfriend, he had the green chili eggs and I had the pancake special (chocolate chip and banana) and it was amazing! You can opt for pure maple syrup, but I had the grade B stuff and it was great. I was told they got their liquor license recently and are serving mimosas and red beers made with Stella Artois…which made my boyfriend very happy to hear. We live right down the street and have been looking for a decent breakfast place and I think we found it. The owner was in the kitchen cooking, his mom was helping up front and our waitress was super nice and gave us the story about this place. I think it should go well and wish them luck!
