The weekend events calendar

Expect a few rain drops this weekend. It may be the last weekend in June, but the weather folks over at King5 say it’s not going to feel like it!

  • Grow your dinner! The Ballard Edible Garden Tour is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The self-guided tour starts at the Ballard P-Patch (8527 25th Ave NW). Tickets are $10 per person or $20 for a carload. All procedes benefit the non-profits Groundswell and Sustainable Ballard.
  • Senator Jeanne Kohl-Welles and State Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson will be attending the health care reform event at Bergen Place Park on Saturday starting at 10 a.m.
  • Get to know your neighborhood. The Loyal Heights Scavenger Hunt is Saturday at 11 a.m. Meet at the Loyal Heights Community Center. This event is designed for adults and youngsters alike. More info can be found here.
  • It’s not Ballard, but it’s right next door. The Greenwood Car Show, which draws thousands of car enthusiasts to the neighborhood is all day Saturday. They will also sponsor a food drive for the Greenwood Food Bank.
  • For more live music, check out the calendars for the Tractor Tavern, Sunset Tavern, The Bit Saloon, High Dive, Conor Byrne, Egan’s Ballard Jam House and Nectar. As always, check out our events calendar. And if you have an event to add, just email us at tips@myballard.com.

    1. Thanks, Blacksheep! Happy to hear it's on Sunday. Won't interfere with the car show. I can experience both! It's going to be a good weekend.:-)

    2. I hope so – it looks like the weather's going to be a bit iffy for the parade. I hope that doesn't result in excessive clothing. ;)

    3. I can't tell if the health care reform event is advocacy for something specific or just a general “we need to change things” forum. Sounds more like the former, but it's unclear exactly what they are advocating…

    4. Sorry I can't make it to the event. It's family day for my wife and 4 kids and I hope you can understand the importance of carving out private time for our family as well as legislative work. I care a lot about this vital issue for our community and am grateful that Sen. Kohl-Welles and Rep. Dickerson will be there in force.

      Reuven.
