In the spirit of honoring industrial Ballard where coveralls are standard issue, the Seafood Fest hosted the “Eighth Annual Slotky Memorial Couture Coverall Contest” on Sunday afternoon.
When the elderly ladies and gentlemen from the Ballard Landmark retirement center took the stage braving the 85-degree heat, the contest was all but over. In addition to the snazzy coverall and the low-tech sign, the “Landmark Lazy Bone Singers” wowed the judges with a few jokes and a song.
After all, who wouldn’t award first prize to those kind blue eyes?

She is precious and so full of life. You go granny.
She looks like trouble!
lol, Silver, I was thinking the same thing, those sweet eyes, sure trouble…
That's my mother and she IS trouble ;) Full of life and a wonderful woman.
Not only is she trouble but she's no lazy bones either. We should all be so active at 80+!
I knew it! It's the sparkle. ;-)
Glad you have such a charming (and talented) mom!
