To kick off Labor Day weekend, there are a couple community barbecues tonight. The Ballard Community Center is hosting a summer BBQ from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 6020 28th Ave. NW. They’ll have a traditional all-American backyard meal that will include mouth-watering BBQ hot dogs, chips, drinks, and more. Sustainable Ballard will be at Golden Gardens hosting an “End of Summer Picnic and Bonfire” from 6:30 p.m. “until late.” Bring a dish to share for dinner, your own plate, utensils and drinks. They’ll have all the s’mores ingredients. If you have questions, email orna@sustainableballard.org.

Sustainable. Bonfire. Um. With JavaLogs, maybe? Or a televised yule log on an EnergyStar TV?
Are they both free?
Alvin,
Yes, both events are free.
It was fun. They had hot dogs, nachos, animal crackers and friendly people. Thanks for the heads up.
