Jolly Roger Taproom grand opening Saturday

The new Jolly Roger Taproom will celebrate its grand re-opening at the new location (1111 NW Ballard Way) this coming Saturday Feb. 20th from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be beer specials and a new dinner menu. Of course all your old favorites will also be available.

Maritime Pacific Brewery closed down their previous location last year because it was too small. Their new brewhouse allows them to brew four batches of 40 barrels of beer each day, compared with 16 at their old space.

  1. That is arguably the worst website I've ever seen in my life. Reading red text over the beige Maritime logo is like having nails driven into your eyes. Let's hope they make enough money at the new location to upgrade from a web design that looks circa 1999.

No gripes about the food or beer though. I'm looking forward to those.

  2. Anybody want to post a pic of the building? Google street view just shows a run down building. Hard to imagine what part they made into a pub.

  3. I'll be knocking on the door on Saturday!
And I hope soon I can also get a pony keg of Islander for my kegerator. Then life in Ballard will be back to normal for me.

  4. The building now looks totally different to that old picture.
The brewery is on the left as you stand in front of the building and the bar is on the right, retail sales is in the middle.
The brewery has been brewing for a couple of months and the bar looks great, I checked it out on Monday!
Can't wait to walk up to the bar and order an imperial pint of cask Islander.

  5. I can't wait for this. My dad forwarded me an email from the owners and I went straight here to find it as the first story. I moved into Ballard 2 days after they closed and it has been too long since they have been closed. Finally my favorite brewery in WA is within walking distance. This will be trouble….

  6. I swung by the new location last night on my way home. It looks… done. Ready to go. There were even Jolly Roger table cloths on the tables. As this was before this story got posted, she also confirmed that they were indeed opening on Saturday.

    YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY (gasp) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY

The best sliders in the world return to Ballard.

  7. Tablecloths? That will be great! There was all kinds of gunk and crumbs stuck in the cracks of their old tables. Which didn't keep me from eating there, it just took a few pints before it no longer grossed me out.

I love their food. I hope they managed to keep the same cook.

One out of the three numbers in that sentence has an ambiguous referent, compared with zero in good sentences.
