Bike to Work and Ballard Summer Streets Party

Friday will be a busy day on the streets of Ballard both on bike and on foot.  Seattle’s annual Bike to Work day is tomorrow.  From 6 – 9 a.m. bicycle commuters can stop by one of 44 designated commute stations (including the one at 8th Ave NW and the Burke Gilman Trail sponsored by Friends of the Burke Gilman Trail) for commuting information, snacks, Cascade Bicycle Club materials and swag.  You can also enter to win prizes including a bicycle and bike gear.

Later in the day, it’s Ballard’s Summer Streets Party from 4-7 p.m at Bergen Place. Be warned that 22nd Avenue NW will be closed between Ballard Ave. and Market Street from about 2–8 p.m. for set up and take down.

  1. Don’t forget that Friday also is Bike to School Day. Lots of Ballard area school kids are will ride on BTS Day and they’re earning prizes for their rides during BTS Month. Keep alert for smaller cyclists, or better yet, join in!
