Top Banana to stay open year-round

For the first time in 17 years, Top Banana (6501 15th Ave NW) will be open during the fall and winter.

“It’s been a tough year,” owner Jimmy Wild tells us, “I’m not closing for the season due to economic problems.” Along with a tough economy, he says it costs a lot of money to close up shop each year and another 15 to 20 thousand dollars to reopen in the spring. His plan is to continue with the produce year-round and bring in the Christmas trees during the holidays, just like he does every year.
