Full Tilt Ice Cream opening in Ballard

The rumors are true – Full Tilt Ice Cream is getting ready to open in Ballard. Owner Justin Cline tells us that they’ll be moving into the old Olsen Furniture location just off Market Street on Leary Ave. “We think that what we do would do really well in Ballard,” Cline says of the pinball, ice cream and beer establishment. “It’s really a place where all ages can have fun.” He tells us that it’s more of an ice cream parlor by day and a bar by night. Cline is aiming for a May 1 opening, just in time for warm weather.

  2. Ballard: where even the ice cream parlors are bars. Classy as always.

Coming next: The Kiddie Saloon – combination child care center and tavern.

  3. That place actually sounds like a whole lot of fun. You know what I miss? Funplex. I hope they have some games along with pinball because we just can’t get ourselves to go downtown to overpriced Gameworks.

  4. May 1 — warm weather??? Have these people ever been to Seattle before? We don’t get warmish weather until after July 4. Come on!

Still, good ice cream is always welcome.

  5. I have kids and this sounds fun to me. Why can’t I have a cocktail and play pinball with my kid at the same time? It’s not like I’m going to be giving her sips, for God’s sake. Other states (such as CA) do not have this nanny like separation and NO MINORS signs everywhere. It’s silly to me. Having a small wrought iron bar between tables and a NO MINORS sign makes absolutely no difference – you are sitting at a table with your kid and inches away they are not allowed…why? It’s ridiculous. I am somehow able to have a margarita and eat dinner with my child at the same time without harming her or others.

  6. Isn’t there a furniture store currently in that location? I can’t think of the name, but they moved in after Olsen’s closed.

  7. Come on. An ice cream parlor that sells booze? Aren’t there enough places you drunks can inebriate yourselves around Ballard. I swear you are all just a bunch of alcoholics. I bet the majority of you can’t even go one week without a drink/beer!

  8. If you step outside of your puritanical/talibanesque worldview you’d realize that not every drink of alcohol renders one drunk or an alcoholic. Nor does one have to drink alcohol just because it is available.

  9. I think the only ones who are “pitied” are those who can’t survive without a drink. You may tell yourself that you have no dependance on alcohol, but really, can you go without it? I dare you to try it for a month. Not a drink.

Ask any police officer and he will tell you that 90% of responses are alcohol or drug related.

  10. May 1 warm weather? Where are you from, Nome? We lucky to have “Ice Cream Weather” before August, if at all….darn Ice Cream/Gelato fad….

  11. Maybe it will be in the space currently serving as the Canal Station preview center/sales office. I saw workers who appeared to be taking down the sales office interior last Friday.

  12. i love icecream and i think and assume that everyone in the world love to ice cream no matter summer or winter .. +40 or -40 , i cant live without it ……… so openiing a ice cream bar every where is good
