BHS Marching Band takes to the streets

It’s that time of year again, when the Ballard High School marching band hits the streets of Ballard.

We caught up with them at 10th Ave NW and NW 70th Street on Thursday afternoon. Quite a few people were following along, happy kids in tow. We’re assuming that the band is practicing for the annual Syttende Mai parade which will be on Tuesday, May 17th from 6 to 8 p.m. According to comments, the band is practicing for their upcoming trip to Disneyland.

  1. Hey, I just heard the band had secured use of a box truck (for instruments) for the Disneyland trip, but it fell through. The local company that had donated the use of the truck can no longer keep that commitment. The band has a volunteer CDL licensed driver in place and would be leaving Tuesday morning (4/12) and returning Monday evening (4/18).

Any MB readers who might be able to connect the band with a box truck 16′ or longer with a secure door? Please contact me at ldaly42 at yahoo dot com.

  2. I remember hearing the BHS band as far back as the 70’s marching as far as 65th and 32nd. I’m glad they are still bringing pleasant sounds as they are marching along.
