A group of first graders from Adams Elementary will be holding a bake sale today to raise funds for the Red Cross relief efforts for the Japan earthquake and Pacific tsunami. The kids will be outside Rain City Video (6412 32nd Ave NW) from 4 to 8 p.m. “The idea started with my first grade son, but really, once we started talking about it – many first-graders became very excited about the idea,” Amber Christiansen says.

Good the kids were able to experience helping others in need. Not good that the Red Cross were entrusted with these monies. Just like 9-11, the Japanese are not getting the earthquake/tsunami monies that the Red Cross has collected. Over one-billion has been ‘raised’ for this relief effort, and upon last report the Red Cross won’t dispense these monies to their intended target, the Japanese victims. If you want to help the japanese, buy some blankets and other goods, thereupon delivering them to Ron and Don’s relief organization.
Actually untrue. Instead of critisizing, hold your own funraisder for blankets and other goods for your desired charity. Thank you.
