‘Bring the Ring Back to Ballard’ community meeting

The movement to “Bring the Ring Back to Ballard” is going strong.
The Ballard Historical Society (BHS), who is spearheading the campaign, is holding an informational meeting on Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Ballard Library meeting room.

The plan is to install an automated mechanism that could be programmed to ring the bell at designated times – such as noon and 6 p.m. everyday and for special events such as Syttende Mai and SeafoodFest.

From the BHS blog:

The Ballard community is invited to attend an informational meeting on the “Bring the Ring Back to Ballard” Project to discuss background and scheduled completion for automating the historic bell on Ballard Avenue. Ballard residents and businesses are encouraged to participate in final planning. This project is funded in part by a Neighborhood Matching Fund award of the Seattle Department of Neighborhoods.

If you have ideas and cannot attend Wednesday’s meeting, post your comments here.
