House damaged in late-night shooting

Here is information on a late-night shooting in east Ballard from the SPD Blotter:

On June 2nd at approximately 11:11 p.m. officers responded to the 1400 block of NW 64th Street for reports of shots fired. Officers arrived on scene and discovered a house that had been struck multiple times by gunfire. The front door, doorframe and lower part of the house around the front door had all been hit by bullets fired from unknown suspect(s).

A witness reported seeing a light blue or green SUV speeding away from the scene. The suspect(s) and suspect vehicle remain at large.

There was a couple in the home at the time of the incident however, there were no injuries as a result of the gunfire and no victims have been located.

Anyone with information about this incident or who may know the identities or whereabouts of the suspect(s) is asked to call 911 or Seattle Police immediately and refer to this incident. Anonymous tips are welcome.

  1. I’d imagine if someone decided to shoot up my house, I’d have a pretty good idea who did it. Is this the no snitchin’ code from the ‘victims’?

  3. Welcome to LA. No doubt these goons have no permits or license to have said gun(s). Gun control is using both hands, to shoot back.  You have to work hard to earn a drive-by-shooting. So what gives? Gentrification: not your grandmas Ballard

  4. How do you know the address and is it the greatest idea to publish it? I live very close by so it would be great to find out why this happened.

  5. Why should people snitch when the police wont snitch on each other for police brutality, shaking people down, sleeping on the job, etc. Or what about politicians snitching on their leaders?

If they wont why should anyone else?

  6. “If they wont why should anyone else?”

Because gang filled ghettos with drug dealers shooting it out are not nice places to live in and raise kids in?  Just a thought for your 18 year old brain to wrestle with. Not sure about you, but most hard working, law abiding, decent people, given the choice, would rather have a cop next door than crack dealers.

  7. Scatcat, you’re right though, among the hundreds of cops in Seattle, there are a few bad apples. However, with crack dealers who go around shooting up neighborhoods, we know they are ALL bad apples.

See the difference between a cop and people who shoot up houses?

  8. I’m 18 years old? You’re the one who had to reply twice because you’re raging too much. Trolled much?

First, all crack dealers are bad apples? That’s quite the generalization. I’ve found that most drug dealers actually try to -avoid- hostilities and focus on selling product without having to resort to violence. Violence leads to attracting unwanted attention from law enforcement, your peers, your competitors and your customers.

I’m sure plenty of these stereotypical hard working, law abiding people wouldn’t mind a cop next door who had to rough up a few minorities either to ensure that packages didn’t get jacked off their porch or that their cars didn’t get broken into. Doesn’t mean I agree with Average Joe hard worker.

You know, I’m having a hard time with your 2nd post here. While crack dealers shooting up houses seems kind of scary, I’ve got to figure that it probably happened for a reason. Perhaps some sort of retribution? I’m not sure, but I really don’t think its random acts of violence on someone unrelated to the drug trade. That said, I don’t think I’m a big fan of our police officers who shoot people holding a block of wood and a pocket knife 10+ feet away standing idle (and get away with it). I’m pretty sure no matter who the crack dealers shoot, in a court of law they’re not going to get away with it while our police get off scott free.

I’m not hating the police in general, but SPD has to come to grips that its a big city now and it can’t play the old (white) boys club any longer. We need to bring in talent (administration) from a major city police force that knows how to implement community policing and how to be accountable for its actions. Unfortunately, we have a police department which the union & officers despise. That’s because SPD is loaded with nepotism and people have been overdue for promotions for 5-10 years yet will not get them because they don’t kiss up to the right parties. This breeds hostilities in an organization that is under constant public scrutiny that has no understanding of these wars being unleashed inside.

  10. “. I’ve found that most drug dealers………”

I didn’t bother reading past that part. Enjoy your new friends. Hope they don’t shoot your house up. The fact that you’re not 18 and think the cops are the enemy but crack dealers are your friends is rather sad.

  11. “While crack dealers shooting up houses seems kind of scary, I’ve got to figure that it probably happened for a reason.”

OK I lied, I read further, it’s too funny. I’m glad you think there’s an acceptable reason for crack heads and crack dealers to shoot up houses near where kids live and play.

“I’m pretty sure no matter who the crack dealers shoot, in a court of law they’re not going to get away with it while our police get off scott free.”

You know there’s a difference between the police’s right to use deadly force and crack dealers, right? Maybe you think cops and crack dealers are the same, luckily the law says they are not, even when the cops make mistakes protecting us from your friends, the who shoot up my neighborhood while my kids are home. If you really like living like that I can suggest some places you can live and witness crack heads shooting it out daily. Luckily, most Ballardites think you’re a moron.

What a wonderful world you wish upon the rest of us. Does your mother know you have access to the internets too?
