Die-hard Harry Potter fan waiting hours for premiere

Eighteen-year-old Kyra Calnan is a self-proclaimed Harry Potter fan. “I’m not a complete freak, I promise, I just love Harry Potter,” she laughs. “I’m a very, very, very big Harry Potter fan”

With a smeared lightening bolt on her forehead (she forgot it was there and rubbed it), Calnan is the first one in line at the Majestic Bay Theater (2044 NW Market St) for tonight’s midnight premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 2. “I want to get a good seat, it’s a small theater,” she says. “In the past, people come at 11 and wait in line and 30 people will come with their group, and so I wanted to make sure I was first.”

Calnan says she waited four to five hours for the last premier and got a horrible seat, so she decided to show up at 1 p.m. to be first in line. She brought a bag of things to keep her busy and some food to snack on when she gets hungry.

The midnight showing at Majestic Bay is sold out, but tickets are still available for tomorrow – the first one is at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are available here.
