Students and neighbors spruce up 14th Ave NW

Middle school students and moms from St. Alphonsus and Salmon Bay joined a few neighbors Friday morning to clean up 14th Ave NW.

“We drive down this street everyday during the school year so we just want to make it a little better,” St. Alphonsus parent Kim Serwold says.

The crew pulled weeds at several of the intersections and swept gravel back into the median. Dawn Hemminger with the East Ballard Community Association tells us that some areas have been adopted by neighbors but more are still available. If you’re interested, you can get Dawn’s contact information here.

The students will be back out next month for another round of weeding.
