For the third time in 24 hours, North Beach neighbors are without power.
According to John Gustafson with Seattle City Light, the cause is the warm weather. He tells us that with the underground electrical system in that area, the warmer weather that we’ve had the last couple of days can cause the wires to crack. Coincidentally, City Light has a project underway to inject silicone into the wires to prevent these shorts and outages. Gustafson says the current outage could last until 3 a.m., although that is just a guess. Power could come back on earlier or later than that. (Thanks, Julia for the tip!)
