Big evening for Sounders fans in Ballard

The Sounders FC owner, coach, several players and band all came out to the neighborhood Thursday for two separate events.

Goalie Kasey Keller was quite the draw at the Sutter Home and Hearth grand opening party in their new location at 920 NW Leary Way.

Sound Wave performed for the crowd of about 100 or so.

And the grill masters grilled free burgers and hot dogs.

The event was a fundraiser for the Ballard Food Bank. The bins quickly filled up with donations from the community.

On the other side of town, Sounders owner Adrian Hanauer, coach Sigi Schmid and midfielders Brad Evans and Steve Zakuani – along with their two U.S. Open Cups – were at the Market Arms where about 100 fans showed up for some Q & A. The event was a fundraiser for America SCORES Seattle.
