Turkey Trotters take to the streets of Ballard

Thousands of Turkey Trotters came out Thanksgiving morning to help raise money for the Ballard Food Bank.

The fifth annual Seattle Turkey Trot got underway this morning at 9 a.m. just above Golden Gardens

Organizers tell us about 2,000 people participated in this year’s trot, netting the food bank about $38,000, up from last year.

It wasn’t just the trotters who were up early. Some were dressed up with signs along the route for encouragement.
