Earlier this week, we told you the Ballard Bridge would be closed for painting, however because of the rain we’ve had this week, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) has rescheduled the painting for Monday, March 19.

On Monday evening, March 19, the contractor for the Ballard Bascule Bridge Painting project plans to begin closing a single southbound lane of traffic on weekdays, continuing into April. (This closure was expected to begin Monday, March 12, but work progress was delayed by unfavorable weather.) The lane will remain open during peak traffic periods for southbound traffic, but closed from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesdays through Fridays and closed at night from 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday to 6 a.m. the following mornings.
