Ballard High School students win local video contest

Seattle Public Utilities, funded by a grant from the Washington Department of Ecology, put on a competition for local students to create campaign materials, including videos, to educate about the harm car oil leaks have on the Puget Sound and its wildlife. This winning video was created by Paul Crane, Katie Kurtz, and Tarik Akyuz from Ballard High School.

The second place video was also created by Ballard High School students Marley Niland, Lauren Cloward, and Suzanna Olsen.

All competing students are members of Washington DECA at four high schools in Seattle: Ballard, Garfield, Roosevelt and West Seattle. To learn more about the project, visit the Seattle Public Utilities site.
