CenTran to hold first public meeting tomorrow

The newly formed group Century Transportation Authority, or CenTran, is holding a public meeting on Wednesday, April 11, to discuss how solar power could be used to help power transportation systems. CenTran recently announced their plan to develop a monorail that would run from West Seattle to Ballard. The meeting will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Serendipity Cafe (3222 W. McGraw St.) in Magnolia. The public meeting tomorrow night will be the first held by the group.

The purpose of the meeting is to answer the question, “Is there enough sunshine in Seattle to power a transportation system with solar?” Ron Swenson, a solar power and sustainability energy expert, will be the featured speaker. There will then be a public discussion about solar energy usage in conjunction with the proposed CenTran monorail.
