Ballard District Council meeting tonight

This evening is the monthly Ballard District Council meeting, held at the Ballard Public Library meeting room  (5614 22nd Ave NW) from 7 to 8:40 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

7:00     Introductions & Short Announcements – please hold announcements to not more than one minute.

7:15     A Chat with King County Assessor Lloyd Hara: Mr. Hara will discuss current property valuation trends affecting Ballard and all of King County.  He will   also describe a fascinating array of services and resources offered by the KC Assessor’s Office.  What are the factors affecting the tax rate we pay here in Ballard?  How is the assessed value of property determined for those zoned residential, commercial, or industrial?

7:40    Responding to Emergencies in Ballard, Seattle Fire Chief Gregory Dean: Chief Dean will provide an overview of current Seattle Fire Department services in and available to the Ballard district.  He will also describe the department’s fire suppression and emergency response in the event of maritime incidents.  Is Ballard well equipped with Seattle Fire Department services to respond to all manner of medical, property, as well as catastrophic conditions?
