Earlier: The Ballard SeafoodFest is mere weeks away, and the organizers are reminding folks that their fundraiser on Kickstarter ends on Wednesday, July 4. If they don’t raise the full $5,000 by then, they won’t receive any money so far pledged.
SeafoodFest has always been free and open to the public, with donation requests throughout the festival. This year, they’re trying to raise money before the event, which will go to performer fees and stage production. “If our goal is met, we promise not to ask for monetary donations from the stages and our brightly painted fish will happily serve as mere decoration,” according to their Kickstarter page.
