Hempfest could mean traffic backups on 15th Ave

This weekend is the annual Seattle Hempfest, drawing around 80,000 people to Myrtle Edwards Park, just off Elliott Ave W. Many people choose to bike, bus or walk from downtown to the event, but the Seattle Department of Transportation warns that there could be heavy congestion near the event.

Festival goers gather at the booth-lined Myrtle Edwards Park at Hempfest 2009.

Hempfest starts today (Friday) and goes through Sunday. The hours are noon to 8 on Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. To learn more about the event, click here.
