Lane closure update on Ballard Bridge

Work continues on the Ballard Bridge this week, and the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) tells us that lane closures will continue through the end of the week as new light poles are installed. The right, northbound lane of the bridge is being closed daily through the end of the week as early as 7 a.m. and reopening by 2:30 p.m. while poles are being installed on the east side of the bridge. The southbound curb lane will be closed today for one to two hours during the non-peak traffic prior to 2:30 p.m., which is necessary for the crew to pour the concrete bases for two light poles ont he west side of the bridge.

As we’ve stated before, SDOT suggests taking alternate routes as back-ups can occur, especially when the bridge is raised for boat traffic.
